Have you ever wondered why yoga instructors ask you to join them in one long om at the end of your yoga practice? Well don’t feel silly as it’s actually meant to do amazing things to the body. When you hum or om, the vibrations from this sound resonate through the body which in turn create those happy feelings and help the body to achieve its peak fitness levels. No wonder I always feel so good after yoga!
Just recently I experienced a brand new yoga studio in Melbourne that did exactly what I’ve been talking about. Humming Puppy yoga studio, as its name suggests the studio hums to your yoga practice using a frequency of 40hz. The Humming Puppy founders have stated that this frequency aligns with the Gamma brain wave activity which is associated with reaching your peak performance and it’s something that you have to experience for yourself otherwise you’ll never ever really know right? Which is why I had to try it out. And how did I feel? The images say it all. I was able to just move and stretch like a rubber band and with ease!
If you’re ever in Melbourne, Humming Puppy is a must to visit. Not only does it also have an incredible fit out, but the concept is spot on.
